Thanks to canny writing, thoughtful direction by David Ellenstein and committed performances by its four-member cast, “Ben Butler” is not only funny, it’s also an entertaining character study of two men whose lives intersected in real life - Union Major General Benjamin Butler and escaped Virginia field hand Shepard Mallory at Fort Monroe, Va., in May 1861. On the stage, this risk-taking play that opened Saturday at North Coast Repertory Theatre actually works. It’s a sometimes wacky comedy about a runaway slave negotiating for his life with a Union Army general at the dawn of the Civil War. Still, if you want to get something slightly different and interesting, this is definitely the way to go.On the page, Richard Strand’s play “Ben Butler” has an audacious plot. For all the hype this mod gets (and most of the hype comes from the mod description itself.) it is IMHO slightly overrated. I'm not exactly blaming Apollo - I can imagine it would be waaay more difficult to implement or fix things I've talked about without creating tons of incompatibilities. Not a problem per se, just technically a small bug) (Small note for T3nd0's mods users: it seems Apollo didn't know, or - let's face it - didn't care, that SkyRe(?)/Perma introduced another version of Call to arms.

Although the enchantments are awesome - some of these weapons have chances of casting Call to arms on kill. I've taken a "break" from the war to defeat this silly person from Solstheim, and I want to see how long Rikke will wait for me on that snowy mountain in Winterhold to defeat guys from Kastav.Īnother thing are the custom weapons/armors you get - the descriptions are quite enigmatic (I am in fact thinking of making a tiny mod to fix these, so they are less cryptic and that they can be understood without breaking the I-word). You can get "unconscious" during the siege, and it will go on - that's good, what about the war itself? I'm now trying to test its patience. And there is another mini-quest with framing Jarl Laila's steward, so you have to hop and jump between these two borders 4 times). One of the most annoying part from the vanilla - the fact that you have to go from the camp to a fort siege and then back to the camp JUST so you can tell Rikke/Galmar that you've won is pretty tedious (especially in Rift: the Imperial camp is near Ivarstead, while Fort Greenwall is on the other side of the hold.

After joining the legion I've been running in full Imperial armor gods knows how long and the Stormcloaks didn't even care.ĭespite all of that positive changes, the general feel of the war is the same to me it's really like playing on a higher difficulty level. The camouflage doesn't work until after the Battle of Whiterun, though, I think. The fights are tougher, and the spies and the need to camouflage is great the diversity with the forces is also a nice addition.

I agree with your review, though I had my hopes about it slightly higher though.
